Tesla makes more money with Bitcoin than by selling cars

So far, Tesla has roughly made a $1 billion in paper profit from its bitcoin investment. According to Daniel Ives, analyst at Wedbush Securities, the company could be on a trajectory to make more from its Bitcoin investments than profits from selling its EV (electric vehicle) cars in all of 2020," which is quite a statement. We do not know if they already sold any of the $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin they bought earlier this months, but we do know that Elon Musk is rather bullish on bitcoin: “a simply a less dumb form of liquidity than cash.”

Exploring Mars is an expensive adventure

As you may have heard in the news last week, NASA's Perseverance safely landed on Mars, inside the Jerezo Crater, which we think used to be a massive lake billions of years ago. The vehicle will measure and observe all it can to help us try to determine if there once was life on the red planet. However, these long-distance experiments are expensive, as you can see on the chart below. Viking 1&2 were the most expensive at $7.1 billion, while NASA estimate spending of around $3 billion for Perseverance.

Where are digital media the strongest?

34% of global media sales have been generated digitally in the past year, or 5% more than in 2019. The growth is not expected to be so steep in the next years, but we can expect a 45% share by 2025. Asia is ahead of the US and Europe, expected to distribute a majority of its media digitally by 2022.

Google Chrome OS beats Mac OS

While Microsoft's Windows operating system is still dominating the realm of computers, Apple has always battled to grasp some market share, but has constantly remained far behind. It was even overtaken by a new competitor: Google's Chrome OS. Chrome OS has almost 11% of the global share while the Mac OS sits at 7.5%. This is quite an impressive performance for a software that launched only a few years ago. But Microsoft still owns 80% of the OS market.
