The cost of cyber insurance is on the rise

Like the great fire of London forged the property insurance market in the UK, the recent cyber attacks have sprouted the growth of the cyber coverage market. Insurance companies now also provide emergency support services and financial compensations. The change in US premium was of around 11% for Q4 2020 and well above 16% for Q1 2021.

HP shares fall could be linked to concerns over peaking PC demand

The stronger than expected results for the April quarter made investors feel worried that pandemic-led PC demand could be coming a slowdown. Quarter ended April 30th, saw revenues reach $15.9B, up 27.3% and about $900M above the street's consensus. Consumer PC revenue was up 72% and consumer printer revenue jumping 45%. Buybacks are in, and over the last four quarters HP has bought back 17% of its stock. The stock is down 9% however. The issue is that the market has discounted the strong PC sales as there was ample evidence of surging demand. Citi analysts say the peak does not matter, bottom lines do in lowering component costs.

Ambarella, an AI computer vision firm, is set to underperform by BoA

Remain cautious given macro/trade uncertainties. In addition, the stock's premium valuation versus broader semis also sets a high bar for execution. While Q1 marked an impressive turn for AMBA, the firm faces stiff competition ahead. AMBA high valuation might be over exposed to China restriction risks and while their auto segment is in a run of form, there is competition from Intel/Mobileye, Nvidia and Qualcomm (they all compete on similar technologies, think AI chips).

Affirm: time to buy now, or pay later? BoA upgrades to buy--short interest still 29% of float

The buy now pay later company has seen shares fall 34% this year as the company faces several headwinds including a struggling Peloton--Affirm's largest merchant. Furthermore, Affirm is a high growth and high-multiple stock which tends to do badly during times of rising interest rates.
