As we are seeing many short squeezes recently (or so it seems), here is a list of the most-shorted stocks of the Russell 3000 and their year to date returns. GameStop is on top, followed by SunPower and Bed Bath & Beyond.

However, in the past 30 days the short basket has outperformed the S&P 500 by 37%, this is the LARGEST since 2008". Buybacks by BofA's corporate clients have spiked, reaching their highest level since March. And this is all done under the Fed's approval, which had ordered to stop them back in July. Would it not be better to hold on to cash and save it for a rainy day, rather than simply distribute it to shareholders?
