Rebound in gaming and smartphone pushed Sony's profits up, beating all analysts' predictions with 359.2 billion yen. Their sales forecast were raised 34%, from 700 billion yen to 950 billion yen. The company sold 5 million consoles and added 1.5 million PlayStation plus subscribers to their service. According to analysts, the PlayStation 5 is well on its way to beat the sales of the previous console, which had 7.6 million units sold by March (end of their fiscal year).

Jeff will step down from his role of CEO and most likely take the executive chair. Bezos wants to have more time to work on "outside projects" and take on new initiatives. "Being the CEO of Amazon is a deep responsibility, and it's consuming," Bezos wrote. "When you have a responsibility like that, it's hard to put attention on anything else. As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions. I've never had more energy, and this isn't about retiring. I'm super passionate about the impact I think these organizations can have."
