Football stocks lag the STOXX Europe 600

Recent news regarding a Belgian Club Brugge IPO has got more than one fan lining up at the brokerage. Club Brugge saw net profit rise 148% to 24 million euros on operating income of 120 million euros in the year through June 2020, according to its IPO prospectus. Will its IPO help the index rise or will it sag it further down?

Amazon moves to take over Thursday night football but only beginning with the 2023 season. Until then, Fox retains the right, but could see exit early leaving more room for Amazon. While this could be good for Amazon, this could be great for sports.

Nike sales are down--net income is unaffected.

While Nike dominates the sneakers world as shown earlier this morning, their sales have shrunk due to the pandemic. The company blames shipping issues as cause for lower sales. Nike forecasts low to mid teens full year revenue growth. However, net income climbed to $1.45 billion ot 90 cents per share in the third quarter end Feb 28th a rise from $847 million a year earlier.

Petco reports strong sales, thanks to pandemic puppy love

Petco's 4th quarter revenue jumped 16%, with a 90% increase in digital sales and 1 million new customers. Its expected revenue for 2021 is between $5.25 billion and $5.35 billion. Their rival, Chewy, is not doing as good, as its share fell almost 3% yesterday.
