Pet stocks soared during the pandemic

What do you do when you're bored, stuck at home and lack social interactions? You buy a pet. At least that's what many people did, with record adoption rates as well as pet-related spending which made pet companies thrive. Share prices of companies like Chewy, Pets at Home and Zooplus all soared during the pandemic, not only because of higher rates of adoption, but also because of owners having more time and money to take care of their fluffy loved ones. What's more, it is rather unlikely that this trend falters soon, as once people buy a pet, it is generally really hard to part with it.
