The USD responds well to a surprising ADP job report

US initial jobless claims fell to 385,000 last week, while continuing claims increased to 3.8M in the previous week. The ADP employment report showed an increase of 978,000 which was much stronger than the consensus forecast of 600,000. This news sent the USD soaring against other currencies.

Scandinavia remains the world's happiest place in the world, keeping a firm stance on the podium with Finland, Iceland and Denmark. And despite some hardships the world had to go through (like pandemics), the overall score did not change much in 2020. Switzerland did jump 2 ranks from 2019 and placed 4th, while the US rose from 19 to 14. The best scoring country in Africa is Nigeria with the 59th spot.

India SENSEX stock jumped 0.7% closing in on ATH

The S&P BSE Sensex jumped more than 380 points to 52,232 today. Heavyweight financials and energy stocks lead the gains. Investors are hoping for a strong economic recovery in India despite a recent resurgence in covid cases. India Reserve Bank is expected to leave interest rates at record-low levels and reaffirm its commitment to provide adequate liquidity to support growth.
