UK input prices 6 month lead soars, PMI data comes out next week

The CPI rose sharply in June, confirming trends seen in the UK #PMI which saw an acceleration in costs and selling prices. Brexit, global supply chain disruption and higher wages were contributing factors to inflation. The UK flash PMI will be released next week. Source: IHS Markit

UK gilts fall as inflation runs ahead of BoE target

Britain's inflation rate rose 2.5% leading the yield on the 10-year gilt to reach 0.673% (a 0.04% increase) after the price of the governments debt fell. The BoE had previously increased its debt holdings from £645bn to £895bn.
