Rising imports from China have made market prices soar. The price of grain has reached a 9-year high, reaching $7.32 per bushel and stayed above $6 this week. This price level has not been witnessed since 2013. Imports from China were up 250% for corn and of almost 100% for wheat. The demand for meat has also risen, with the population's wealth on a steady rise.

NGL and oil prices could remain strong well into H2 2021

Robust international demand for liquefied petroleum gas drove a sharp spike in realized prices during the first quarter, boosting the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) revenues of some U.S. shale producers more than 100% above the prior-year period. The 10 largest shale producers recorded year-over-year gains in realized NGL prices of 77% to as much as 180% during the quarter. Both oil and NGL prices improved from the same period a year earlier and even from fourth-quarter 2020 levels. The average Brent crude oil futures prompt month contract gained 22% from the year-ago period, while the average Mont Belvieu NGL spot price grew more than 130%.

Gold sees third straight week of gains on weaker greenback

Gold keeps gaining this week with the US Dollar trending south. Traders have mostly ignored Federal Reserve minutes that is considering a tapering of bond purchases. Bullion gold is selling at its highest level in more than four months amid rising inflation expectations. Holdings in ETF backed by gold have resumed a northern climb. Some suggest that a drop in BTC could be linked to a rise in Gold but this might be false considering that losses were made this week versus a rotation from BTC to gold.
