Gold demand recovers after Central Banks regain appetite

As inflation is accelerating and global trade recovers, Gold regains shine from Central Banks. The National Bank of Serbia announced its intent to boost its holding by adding 13.7 tons as a protection against inflationary risks and other financial risks. Other central banks intend to increase their gold reserves over the next year which is driven by their need of diversification and global trade recovering.

Exxon going lean with polymer division sale to Celanese

Major oil company Exxon Mobil prepares to sell its Santoprene business which makes elastic polymers used in automotive, industrial and cosumer products to chemical maker Celanese for $1.15B. The deal comes as Exxon is looking to improve profit and slash debt by culling lower margin operations. It had two years ago pledged to divest $15 billion in assets by the end of 2021 and $25 billion through 2025.
